Updating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The site may look a little FUNKY for a minute due to me being overly indecisive when it comes to layouts...........

Myspace, Caregivers and Interviews

*Ring**Ring*

Voice 1: “Hello”

Voice 2: “Hey, I really hate to do this to you but my dog got hit my a car and my daughter had an asthma attack and I ran out of gas on the way to the hospital and I really think my dogs going to die and the hospital is keeping my daughter for observation and Craig’s only in town for this last night and I really need to spend some time with him……..So I’m NOT going to be able to come in tonight.”

Voice 1: “Really?”

Voice 2: “Yeah. I have to go. Bye!”

Does this conversation sound familiar? Did she/he look really “sane” and “reliable” on paper? Were her/his references the bomb diggity? Are you really confused as to why you cannot get her/him to show up to the job that THEY wanted so badly? Are you trying to find a way to discover who a person really is off the resume paper? The obvious answer to all theses questions is yes, but what can you do about it?

Well maybe you should start doing what most corporations in America have been doing when it comes to the ever taunting game of roulette that is the Caregiver/employee selection process. Companies have been getting on sites such as Myspace, Facebook, Yahoo 360, Blogspot and many more, in order to see how the potential employees act outside of work. If we are to be overly honest with ourselves then we can admit that when it comes to Caregivers their personal lives always flow over into their work (Unless you are really lucky and get a great Aid that can separate the two and show up too work). You will be surprised what you can learn about a potential employee from their online social sites. People will post the dumbest information about themselves online without thinking anything of it. This same dumb information however, could save you the headache of dealing with someone who is crazy but interviews well. Just remember…..It’s NOT an invasion of their privacy if they leave their personal site open for public access. If they didn’t want people too see it then they would have clicked the privacy button when they signing up for the site.

I will post tips and tricks later on how to find people on these social site.

Join the Flock!!!!!!!!!!

If you are a fan of Firefox then you will be an avid stalker of Flock.

Flock 1.1.4 is a new web browser from the makers of Firefox. It's geared towards people who are into social networking. My world is one of the many cool feature Flock offers and serves as your homepage. With a simple click, My world allows you to access your friends updates on site such as Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and Youtube. Just imagine all that information in one place! Flock makes logging onto sites easier by giving you the option to save User name and passwords and auto filling it every time you visit the site. Unlike Internet Explorer (IE) Flock allows you too access your saved passwords and view then. If your anything like me then you need to be able to check what strange passwords you've used.

In edition to updating you on the goings ons of your Peep's, Flock also gives you updates to all the RSS feeds your subscribed too. Flock makes saving RSS feeds a breeze by notifying you when you when your on a site with a RSS feed and then gives you the option to save the RSS feed. Finally RSS without the confusion! One of my favorite features Flock offers is that it allows you too save search bar, for example you can save the search bar on Youtube and then search for Youtube videos without having to first go to the Youtube's website. Sweet! I know I hate downloading Search tool bars and this feature eliminates the need too do so. All in all Flock makes surfing the web a much easier task!

Blogging Back - What you want to know

I want to know what you want to know.........Yah know?

Feel free to ask questions or leave a comments on what gives you the biggest headache when trying to navigate around the internet or simply your computer desktop.

Chances are I know a shortcut or a Handi tip. :D

ALT + CLT+ DEL = TASKMRG

A great alternative to ALT+CLT+DEL is to use RUN to open up Task Manager.

1. Click Start

2. Click RUN

3. Type the command TASKMRG

4. Enjoy closing out programs

StickyKeys

I was surprised to learn how many people do not know about this fantastic feature on Windows XP. StickyKeys makes getting to the @ sign a breeze instead of a royal pain. It allows you to click keys one at a time as apposed to simultaneously.

StickyKeys is an accessibility feature designed for people who have difficulty holding down two or more keys at a time. When a shortcut requires a key combination such as CTRL+P, StickyKeys will enable you to press one key at a time instead of pressing them simultaneously. (Microsoft Website)

To activate StickyKeys

1. Press the Shift key five times. A dialog box opens with instructions on how to set up the StickyKeys feature.

2. I would suggest clicking Settings which will open up the Accessibility Options window

3. Check the box next to Use Sticky Keys

4. Then Click the Settings Button next to Use Sticky

5. Check the boxes that will work well for you

6. Click okay which will close out the window

7. Click Apply

8. Then Click Okay and StickyKeys will be active.

You will see an icon (a group of squares) that appears in the notification area.

To turn off StickyKeys, press the Shift key five times.
