StickyKeys

I was surprised to learn how many people do not know about this fantastic feature on Windows XP. StickyKeys makes getting to the @ sign a breeze instead of a royal pain. It allows you to click keys one at a time as apposed to simultaneously.

StickyKeys is an accessibility feature designed for people who have difficulty holding down two or more keys at a time. When a shortcut requires a key combination such as CTRL+P, StickyKeys will enable you to press one key at a time instead of pressing them simultaneously. (Microsoft Website)

To activate StickyKeys

1. Press the Shift key five times. A dialog box opens with instructions on how to set up the StickyKeys feature.

2. I would suggest clicking Settings which will open up the Accessibility Options window

3. Check the box next to Use Sticky Keys

4. Then Click the Settings Button next to Use Sticky

5. Check the boxes that will work well for you

6. Click okay which will close out the window

7. Click Apply

8. Then Click Okay and StickyKeys will be active.

You will see an icon (a group of squares) that appears in the notification area.

To turn off StickyKeys, press the Shift key five times.
